Blogger isn't what it used to be, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't continue to update it! So, better late than never, here is Inktober, Day 1. I began with my poster girl for all things grim and gory, Decay. Added a bonus Ahklut for Thornwolf's creature challenge!
Decay didn't scan well; I drew her too close to the sketchbook seam. I used to add margins to my sketchbooks to prevent this from happening, ha!

I'll say it again: ROBOTS ARE HARD TO DRAW when you're not used to drawing them! But I am a huge nerd (again) for Transformers: Prime right now, and this provided a good challenge for me. Ratchet is one of my favorite characters and Jeffrey Combs does a fantastic job bringing him to life. (It still cracks me up knowing that Combs played Milton Dammers in The Frighteners.)
This drawing is a nod to the episode "Stronger, Faster" (1x22), per Camille's suggestion. HOO-AH!!
I'll definitely try my hand at drawing more of the Prime characters - if not for Inktober, then whenever! I may want to consider buying some action figures for reference. :D

Introducing Pudgikins, the Hummingbird-Housecat Gryphon! She is a mischievous bundle of sweets-craving energy. Felt good to use my Pentel Color Brush again; the poor thing is neglected.
Some of you may remember that INKvember was a thing I wanted to do.
...Yeah. Sometimes plans don't pan out.
My goal was to create a handful of polished drawings. "Gravity's Angel" was the one full illustration I made. But I did complete several sketches and rough paintings I liked; hope you enjoy them.

Time for straight up gore! I decided to drop the pumpkin from the composition. I was going to have my spider gal sitting on it, but I liked the cropped comp better.
The finished drawing is pure brush pen with some Prismacolor marker.
Today was crappy for various reasons. I enjoyed a mug of coffee after work and it helped me relax. Maybe this little barn owl is enjoying her coffee for the same reason.
