Oaxacan Hummingbird, Stage 2!

^ Primed portion of the neck, using Peacock Blue (one of my favorite Prismacolor pencils).

^ A shot showing how shiny the back has become with its built up layers.

^ I used the sgraffito technique on the back: I scraped away layers of black with an X-Acto knife to show the underlying layers of color, which I used to prime the area.

^ Impressed feather textures on the right wing.

^ Post-It Note takeover in preparation for coloring the right wing.

^ Right wing finished!

^ A closeup of the right wing showing its texture.
