Costumed Figure Drawing: week 4's home studies!

I played around with a Sharpie, a #1 round brush and ink, walnut ink, and my beloved Derwent Inktense. New to my collection of inks and watercolors is a bottle of Dr. Ph. Martin's Radiant Concentrated Watercolor - Mahogany.

Costumed Figure Drawing: backlogged in-class work!

These are my in-class drawings from week 4. The model brought three outfits: nun, bar maid (Lee dubbed that costume "wench"), and a burlesque dancer. Progressively naughtier, heh.

Costumed Figure Drawing WIP: Burlesque Beauty

Presenting some on-time WIP photos of Burlesque Beauty; I am going to scan the final piece at the school tomorrow.

^ Oops - this is a frisket booger, not rubber cement... but I used a rubber cement pickup eraser to lift it off the paper.

^ I had to tie the cords of my blinds to my lamp to keep it over my work.

Costumed Figure Drawing WIP: Femme Fatale

Also belated: the WIP photos for Femme Fatale. I used Incredible White Mask Liquid Frisket and masking tape to block out areas to keep clean and to paint first.

Main critiques on this guy were to add more contrast (i.e. darker tones) and to nix the color rectangles behind his hand and feet. If I have time, I'd really like to rework this piece. But as it stands, it was a lot of fun to do.

Costumed Figure Drawing studies: Fuchsia Fabulous

These are belated, but here are the studies I did for week 2's assignment.

^ 5" x 7" study using Derwent Inktense watersoluble ink pencil. Title inspired by the color I used.

^ Fixed up study with better proportions.

^ Quick color / contrast study on the corner of my Utrecht tote.
