BRAINSICK: Mired by Complacency

As one of my most developed characters, Finch is someone I turn to often when I need to express myself. This painting serves as a character study and an outlet for the negativity I'd felt during most of the year before leaving my retail job.

BRAINSICK: Warning Cry (unfinished, 2012)

Quick update showing an unfinished drawing of Paranoid from 2012. Gotta get back into my ink work! Yesterday was my last day at my retail job, which I'd worked for two years. It was a convenient paycheck, but I was desperate to feel like an artist again. I'll have more time to devote to my art as I search for another job.

BRAINSICK: The Binding Tongue

"The Binding Tongue" is a continuation of my INKtober-type Brainsick work. I aim to produce one each month until Rose City Comic Con in September! (I should squeeze in another Oaxacan Animal somewhere, too...) Again, I initially shared these photos on my Instagram account.
Paranoid will forever be my go-to art therapy dog. <3 p="">

BRAINSICK: Lucidity As Food For Madness
![]() |
| Lucidity As Food For Madness 9x12 technical pen on Canson Montval watercolor paper |
"Lucidity As Food For Madness" is based off a notebook cover I designed in 2009. It's the type of illustration I would like to have produced for INKvember - but better late than never!
Taking photos with my new phone is a blast; I've taken over 700 since getting the darn thing in January. Having it linked to Dropbox means I can download photos to my computer without worrying about a camera cable. Aaaaah, simplicity. Makes photographing my artwork that much faster.
I'm going to exhibit at Rose City Comic Con again this year. Need to make some new illustrations to sell as prints!

I shared a handful of these progress photos on my Instagram account. It's a little addicting, but I need to put more focus into cross-posting to my main art hubs.
