INKtober 2014, Day 2 BONUS!

Day 2 BONUS: Kitty-Bee!

6x8 acrylic and walnut inks on Stonehenge paper

Kitty-Bee was born in 2010 while Kat was visiting. She made a noise that reminded me of a cat crossed with a bee, so I had to draw one. I want a Kitty-Bee plush now...

Rather than dive straight into outlines, I decided to apply tones mostly with stippling. With more practice, I can apply it to larger works with confidence. Definitely a fun experiment!

The brown tone is walnut ink. I used an X-Acto knife to lift away lines around Kitty-Bee's legs, eyes, and mouth.
